Effective January 1, 2021

The City of Belle Isle participates in E-Verify and will provide the federal government with all new hire form I-9 information to confirm authorization to work in the United States.  If E-Verify cannot confirm that a new hire is authorized to work, this employer is required to give written instructions and an opportunity to contact the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) or Social Security Administration (SSA) so the new hire can begin to resolve the issue before the employer can take any action against them, including terminating their employment. Employers can only use E-Verify once a job offer is accepted and the Form I-9 is completed. For more information on E-Verify, or if it is believed that this employer has violated its E-Verify responsibilities, please contact DHS at 1-888-897-7781 or visit their website at www.dhs.gov/e-verify

New employees must enroll in direct deposit of payroll checks.
