PUBLIC NOTICE: January 10, 2023
At the Lake Conway Navigation Board meeting on Tuesday, January 10, 2023, the NAV Board recommends that the Lake Conway MSTU millage rate on your property tax bill be raised from 0.4107 to 0.6531, which is a 60% increase. For example, if you are paying $100 to the Lake Conway MSTU, that will now be $160 next tax bill if the Orange County Board of Commissioners adopts the increase. This increase is NOT a City of Belle Isle tax. To view the information presented to the Board, please see the attachment below. Orange County is taking public comment on this action until January 20, 2023.

Lake Conway Water and Navigation Control District - The public purpose of the special district: To provide for adequate regulation and control of lakes, canals, streams, waterways, inlets, bays, and their alteration by dredging, filling, pumping, or otherwise altering the shoreline, land contours and water areas; And to protect public rights, public welfare, and public riparian property rights and to preserve the natural beauty and attractiveness of the lakes, canals, streams, waterways, inlets, and bays; And to provide for wells to restore and maintain water levels and to control and regulate speed and operation of boats, boating activity, and navigation; And to provide adequate notice as to the purchase of lands from the trustees of internal improvement fund, within the district, and to provide public hearings and recommendations as to the same.

FINANCIAL REPORTS - This is a dependent special district and presented as a blended component unit of the Orange County Government.
Comprehensive Annual Financial Reports - The district is funded by an AdValorem millage, limited to a maximum of 2 mills by Orange County Code Section 33-42. The current millage rate is 0.4107.
