Orange County Transportation Initiative 2022
Orange County Government launches an interactive map where residents can navigate and gather information relating to the proposed Transportation Initiative projects list.
Residents can navigate the dashboard by scrolling through the site or using the navigation bar for direct links. The interactive map has a zoom feature and projects can be filtered by address, zip code, and commission district. Orange County’s Geographic Information System team designed the page to be user-friendly and easily accessed from a variety of devices. The dashboard is among many educational tools available to Orange County residents to keep them informed of important matters within their communities and countywide.
This dashboard can be found at ocfl.net/transportationdashboard.
Purpose
On November 8, Orange County voters will decide if they want a one-cent sales tax increase to fund transportation needs across the County. This dashboard was created so that residents can see what projects would occur if the sales tax is passed and how citizen oversight will play a vital role in how the money is spent. The extra penny would generate almost $600 million per year dedicated to transportation projects, infrastructure, technology, and transit, as well as bike and pedestrian safety. Our current transportation system is overburdened and underfunded and it is time we address these issues. Our community deserves a transportation network that is efficient, equitable, and environmentally friendly.
