Call For Members City Council Districts 3 & 4

PUBLIC NOTICE  

The City of Belle Isle City Council Appointment Opportunity – Districts 3 and 4

The Mayor and Council of the City of Belle Isle are accepting applications for Districts 3 and 4 vacancies. The appointed applicant shall serve the remaining term as follows, 

• District 3 Term– May 6, 2025 - April 2028. 
• District 4 Term– May 6, 2025 - April 2028. 

Information about the City Council duties are available in the City’s Charter, or contact City Hall at 407-851-7730. 

City Council candidates shall have resided in a bonafide residence in the City and the city district to represent at least one (1) year; they shall be registered voters in Orange County with proof from the Orange County Supervisor of Elections. 

The City Council acts as the governing body of the City. The Council consists of seven elected commissioners and one elected mayor. Elected officials are elected at large and serve three-year terms without compensation. The Council establishes policies and programs and appropriates funds for each city service function. In addition, the Council approves all ordinances, resolutions, and contracts, reviews proposals for community needs, initiates actions for new programs, and determines the level of funding for city services and facilities. The Council holds regular public meetings at city hall on the first and third Tuesday of each month at 6:30 pm.

Form 1 is a requirement for qualifying and must be filed within 30 days of appointment and then annually by July 1 of each year. Beginning with the 2023 form year (filed in 2024), Form 1 must be completed electronically via the Electronic Financial Disclosure Management System (EFDMS) 

Deadline is Friday, April 25, 2025, at 5 pm. 

The City Clerk will contact applicants starting April 28, 2025, to schedule interviews with the Mayor and City Council at the May 6th Council meeting.
