Since 2017, the City of Belle Isle has proudly been recognized as a "Tree City." This fun-filled event, hosted by the City of Belle Isle Tree Board and the Special Events Committee, will feature:

  • Free seedling giveaways & Raffles
  • UF Extension Services
  • Duke Energy, OC Mosquito Control
  • Activities for kids & Face painting
  • Live Animals
  • Educational displays / Forestry Service
  • A showcase of art contest entries
  • Food Truck-Tacos & Ice Cream Available for purchase

Art Contest

  • The submission deadline is Friday, March 7. Please submit to the City of Belle Isle City Clerk at City Hall.
  • Not to exceed 9” x 12” (no canvas or canvas panel)
  • Must be any two-dimensional medium: pencil, watercolor, crayon, marker, oil.
  • Theme: Nature Around Us (any aspect of nature is acceptable)
  • Art Award Categories
    • Elementary
    • Middle School
    • High School
  • Winners will be selected by the Tree Board Members
  • Must list the artist’s name, category, address, phone number, and email address on the back of the art piece
  • By submitting your artwork, you permit the City of Belle Isle to use your name, photograph, and artwork for promotional purposes only. Ownership and copyright of the artwork remain with the artist.
  • The Mayor will announce the winners of the Art Contest during the City Council meeting, and the winning artwork will be featured on the cover of the upcoming City Connection newsletter! Don't miss the chance to get involved, learn something new, and show your love for our local environment.
  • The winners' artwork will be displayed at City Hall for one month; all other artwork can be picked up following the event between 8 am and 5 pm, with the exception of winning pieces.
